Art as a language for the things words cannot hold.
“My art is a language I use to speak about things that words cannot express.”
I cannot limit myself to canvas and brushes — I use any material and any form that carries meaning: nails, matches, thread, wax, fabric, found objects. Destruction and creation are inseparable for me; it is in this cycle that my images are born.
Since 2022 I have redefined my practice and begun creating in a personal, expressive manner — forming a coherent, living artistic language. And I am still continuing my timeless journey in search of myself.
I am Theo Tisfys (D.), a Ukrainian artist who has lived through war, danger, and exile. My life has taken me from Ukraine to Russia, and eventually to safety — fleeing not just conflict, but the threat to my very identity as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
Art has always been my compass — a way to survive, resist, and speak when the world tries to silence me. My practice is a collision of chaos and precision, vulnerability and defiance — a visual language of survival and transformation.
Self-portraits and inner landscapes — a cycle of introspection with no resolution, only continuation.
Works born from war, repression, and displacement. Where states command silence — these works do, say, and stay.
Objects, experiments, and observations — everything the first two rooms could not hold.
