Sakura

I saw a blooming sakura tree on my way back from a psychiatrist appointment. For a moment, I believed this could be a new beginning — a new country, a healed self, a chance to bloom. But my sakura burned before it could bloom. This work is about the grief of realizing that a “new beginning” can carry the same ending, only set against a different backdrop.
