This piece explores the pain of witnessing the world without the ability to look away. The eye — held open and pierced — becomes a symbol of helpless awareness, of being forced to absorb what one would rather escape. There’s no relief, no closing — only the slow dissolution into the very pain we try to survive. It is both deeply personal and universally human.
